Zola Mae Brown

Zola Mae Brown of Coweta, age 87, a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother, went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday morning, July 9, 2012 at MapleWood Care Center in Tulsa, OK. Zola was born December 5, 1924 in Coweta, OK and was the daughter of Thomas Edgar and Ardele Elmarle "Tillie" (Snelson) Gilbert. Zola and Rex Vue Brown were united in marriage on January 24, 1942 in Wagoner, OK until he preceded her in death on March 11, 1981. Zola worked as a machinist at Ajax Die Casting in Broken Arrow for 20 years until she decided to retire in 1986. She attended Liberty Baptist Church in Broken Arrow as long as her health permitted. Zola enjoyed doing volunteer work and going to garage sales. Zola is lovingly survived by her daughter, Betty Hoffman of Catoosa; her son, Tom Brown and wife, Wanda, of Haskell; one sister, Lucille Satterfield of Coweta; two brothers, Ed Gilbert of Coweta and George Gilbert and wife, Velma, of Coweta; 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Zola was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two daughters, three sisters, two brothers and two grandchildren. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening, July 10, 2012 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM. Funeral services for Zola are scheduled for 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Wright-Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta with Pastor Joey Griffith officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery. Pallbearers are Thomas Brown, Steve Hoffman, James Hoffman, Doy Hoffman, Michael Hoffman and Steve Pennington. Honorary Pallbearers are Danny Green, Tim Green and Chuck McGavern. The family of Zola Mae Brown entrusted her care and services to Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home, 210 S.
