Wilma Juanita Mcmurray

Wilma Juanita McMurray, age 96, longtime resident of Coweta passed away peacefully on Monday, February 16, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital South in Tulsa, OK. Wilma was born on August 30, 1918 in Mounds, OK and was the daughter of the late John and the late Lilly (Braswell) Brooks. She married Kenneth McMurray on April 12, 1941 in Okmulgee, OK and he preceded her in death on April 14, 1991. Wilma was a teacher at Coweta Public Schools for 37 years until she retired. She was a member of Lone Star Baptist Church in Coweta, OK. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, quilting, canning, ceramics and fishing with her husband. Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth McMurray, her parents, John and Lilly Brooks, 2 sisters, Maggie and Mayme, 1 brother, Howard and a special nephew, J.R. Wilma is survived by 1 son, Ronnie McMurray and wife, Sharon, of Broken Arrow, OK; 1 daughter, Linda Trobaugh of Broken Arrow, OK; 6 grandchildren, Rhonda Vera, Jared McMurray, Justin McMurray, Aric Trobaugh, Jason Trobaugh and Kelli Trobaugh; 9 great grandchildren, Stephanie, Alex, Elizabeth, Nicholas, Jesse, Jacob, Bruin, Madison and Makenna; 1 great-great grandson, Parker; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Viewing will be from 9 am - 8 pm on Friday, February 20, 2015 at the funeral home with the family being present from 6 - 8 pm. Funeral services celebrating Wilma's life will be at 2 pm on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Lone Star Baptist Church in Coweta, OK with Rev. John Curtis officiating.
