Wilma Pearl Chance

Wilma Pearl Chance, age 78, longtime resident of Broken Arrow passed away peacefully Monday morning, August 11, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK. Pearl was born on December 16, 1935 in Coweta, OK to Roy Wheeler and Nellie Marie (Harp) Bates. She and James Marvin Chance were married on December 8, 1951 in Coweta, OK. Pearl worked at Oral Roberts University as a Letter Analyst for 30 years until she retired in 2000. She was a member of Thomas Community Church in Broken Arrow. She enjoyed gardening, reading and listening to Southern Gospel Music. Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Wheeler and Nellie Marie Bates, 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Pearl is survived by her husband of 62 years, James Marvin Chance of the home in Broken Arrow, OK; 3 daughters, Diana Lynn Hinton and husband, Larry, of Acworth, GA, Connie Ann Beene and husband, Frankie, of Coweta, OK and Sharon Kay Judd and husband, Larry, of Broken Arrow, OK; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Viewing will be from 9 AM - 8 PM on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home with the family being present from 5 PM - 7 PM. Funeral services celebrating the life of Pearl will be at 2 PM Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Thomas Community Church in Broken Arrow, OK with Pastor Len Reimer officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta. Pallbearers are Paul Chance, Olen Chance, Shorty Chance, Harold Chance, Larry Judd and Gary Rogers.
