Willie Eugene Janeway of Coweta passed away on Wednesday morning, June 27, 2007 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. He was 75 years old. Eugene was born on May 2, 1932 in Brooken, Oklahoma to William and Melvina (Dehart) Janeway. He received his education in the Brooken school system. He and Mary Coffman were united in marriage on December 24, 1951 in Van Buren, Arkansas. They moved to Coweta from Canadian, Oklahoma in 1968. Eugene worked at Meadow Brook Country Club as the golf course superintendent until his retirement in 1979. He enjoyed fishing in his retirement. Survivors include his wife, Mary of the home; one son, David Janeway and his wife, Judy, of Red Oak, Oklahoma; two daughters, Elizabeth Brown of Red Oak, Oklahoma and Nema Dobbins and her husband, Frank, of Coweta; two sisters, Nema Janeway of Coweta and Lena Reehling of Muskogee, Oklahoma; six grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; three nieces; and his special friends, Junior Tackett and Leon Bohanan. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2007 at New Home Free Will Baptist Church in Coweta with Reverend Roger McDougal officiating. Committal prayers and interment will be at 2:00 p.m. at Enterprise Cemetery in Enterprise, Oklahoma with Reverend William "Pumpkin" Fitzer officiating.
