William Wyatt Walkup, Jr., age 78, resident of Coweta, Oklahoma went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at his home in Coweta, Oklahoma. Wyatt was born on May 26, 1943 in Okemah, Oklahoma to William Wyatt and Alyine Meddie (Cates) Walkup. He was a 1961 graduate of Coweta High School. Wyatt married the love of his life, Suzanne (Dowden) Walkup on August 14, 1995 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He worked at Braden Winch as a tool and die maker and retired from T.D. Williamson. Wyatt was a member of the First Christian Church in Coweta, Oklahoma. He enjoyed working on hit-and-miss engines, collecting Farmall tractors, making rings out of coins, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Wyatt is survived by his wife, Suzanne Walkup of the home in Coweta, Oklahoma; four children, Karen Campbell and her husband David of Coweta, Oklahoma, Tammy Henderson and her husband Darrell of Vinita, Oklahoma, Terri Bowzer and her significant other Jerry Goss of Vinita, Oklahoma, and Kathy Jo Greer of Tulsa, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, Caitlin Campbell and her husband Jeremy Zornes, Sarah Campbell and her fiancé Bailey Thomasson, Ashley Clark, Alicia Osten and her husband Louis, Baylie Fisher and her husband Brent, Brooks Bowzer and his wife Anna, Chelsea Chaney and her husband DJ, and Katie Davis; five great grandchildren, Carver Osten, Lincoln Osten, Waylon Hodgson, Sawyer Hodgson, and Vera Chaney; three sisters, Bettie Watkins and her husband Don of Coweta, Oklahoma, Sue Hutson of Coweta, Oklahoma, and Sharon Walkup of West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Wyatt was preceded in death by his parents, William Wyatt and Alyine Meddie Walkup and his brother, Jerry Wayne Walkup.
Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday, March 4, 2022 at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta, Oklahoma. Services celebrating Wyatt’s life will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at the First Christian Church in Coweta, Oklahoma with Pastor Jeff King officiating. Wyatt will be laid to rest at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, Oklahoma.
