William "Bill" Joe Goss, Sr.

William “Bill” Joe Goss, Sr., age 91, longtime resident of Broken Arrow went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday evening, August 8, 2021 at Ascension St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Bill was born on February 2, 1930 in Adair, Oklahoma and was the son of William C. and Nancy B. (Thompson) Goss.   He was a 1949 graduate of Pryor High School.  During his high school years, he played football.  Bill married the love of his life, Margie Louise Collins on October 2, 1948 in Miami, Oklahoma.  He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1951-1960.  Bill was a mechanical aircraft inspector for McDonnell Douglas for 40 years until he retired.  He was a rodeo bronc rider and enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, and sitting by the fire and drinking coffee.  Bill was known to be a great storyteller.  He was a born again Christian and a member of the First Baptist Church of Broken Arrow.

Bill is survived by four children, Pam James of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Bill Goss, Jr. of Coweta, Oklahoma, Daniel Goss and his wife Terri of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, and John Goss and his wife Courtney of Disney, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; two nieces, Tarena Hanson and Danette Alberts, both of Irving, Texas; his sister-in-law, Joyce Goss of Irving, Texas; and numerous other relatives.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Louise Goss; his parents, William and Nancy Goss; two sons, Rodney and Donny Goss; and his brother, Daniel Goss.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Brown Funeral Home in Broken Arrow.  Graveside services celebrating Bill’s life will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 13, 2021 at Spavinaw Strang Cemetery in Spavinaw, Oklahoma with Harold Neal officiating.
