William Ling Foo

William Ling Foo of Coweta, Oklahoma was born on February 9, 1948 in Fort Worth, Texas to Joe Leung and Betty (Mayo) Foo.  He went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at the age of 74.  Bill earned an Associates degree in Applied Science-Police Science at Tulsa Junior College on May 12, 1978.  He was a member of Tulsa Police Auxiliary 1982-1992.  Bill was a master technician (mechanic) trained on Ford and General Motors.  He became a Deacon at Grace Church on December 7, 1999.  Bill served in the United States Army and reserves from 1966-1982 with the rank of SSG E6 and saw combat in Vietnam.  Bill received the National Defense Service Medal; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; Expert (Rifle); Vietnam Service Medal with 4 Bronze Service Stars; Air Medal; and Good Conduct Medal Clasp, Bronze, 2 Loops.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and talking with other veterans.

Bill is survived by his wife, Merry Foo; his siblings, SuiOn Jow, Betty Foo, and Linda (Jow) Kraner; his children, Brian Lee Foo, Loriann Colley (Foo) Wood, and Christine Louise Foo; his grandchildren, Joshua Joe Foo, Eli Foo, Paige (Foo) Pendry, Ashlyn Foo, Brianna Foo, Tyler Wood, Haiden Wood, and Stormy Wood; his great granddaughter, Parker Pendry; his nephews and niece, Ken Jow, Shing Jow, Hong Jow, Joshua Jow, Katy Kraner, and Lucas Kraner; and many great nephews and nieces.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Leung Foo and Betty (Mayo) Foo; his siblings, Joe Henry Foo, Jimmy Joe Foo, and Fai Jow; and his son, Bradley Joe Foo.

A graveside service celebrating Bill’s life will be at 2:30 PM on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at the Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma.
