William Wayne Criner

January 1, 1939 — March 19, 2013

William Wayne Criner, age 73, of Coweta passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, March 19, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. Wayne was born on September 8, 1939 in Haskell, OK and was the son of Toy William and Clara S. (Stage) Criner. Wayne was a proud veteran of the United States Army. Wayne was united in marriage to Alice Bickel on September 2, 1960 in Broken Arrow, OK. He worked at Sunoco Refinery as a Lube Service Center Supervisor for 30 years until he retired in 2000. Wayne was a member of the Old Mission Free Holiness Church in Coweta. He enjoyed ranching, cattle and he loved spending time with his precious grandchildren. Wayne will be missed as a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend. Wayne is lovingly survived by his wife of 52 years, Alice Criner of the home; his 2 sons, Dustin Criner and wife, Julia, of Broken Arrow, OK and Brent Criner and wife, Rachel, of Bristow, OK; 1 brother, Raymond Criner and wife, Neonia, of Haskell, OK; 5 sisters, Bernice Pippin of Muskogee, OK, Mildred Moore of Chelsea, OK, Wilma Millikin and husband, Jim, of Claremore, OK, Wanda Brake and husband, Harlon, of Broken Arrow, OK and Ruth Collins and husband, Dean, of Paden, OK; 5 grandchildren, Wes Criner, Alex Criner, Lauren Criner, Addy Beth Criner and Anna Grace Criner; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister and 3 brother-in-laws. Family will greet friends at the Old Mission Free Holiness Church in Coweta, OK on Thursday evening, March 21, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral services for Wayne are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, March 22, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Coweta, OK with Pastor Dustin McDaniel officiating and Pastor Randy Perry assisting. Burial with full military honors will follow in Haskell Cemetery in Haskell, OK with Pastor John Brock officiating. Pallbearers are Rusty Criner, Billy Pippin, Mark Moore, Danny Green, Lyndell Collins and Jimmy Millikin. Honorary Pallbearers are Raymond Criner, Gary Daniels, J.W. Roberts, Dwight Herd, Rev. Herbert Lee and Rev. Wayne Ray. The family of William Wayne Criner entrusted his care & services to Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home, 210 S. Broadway, Coweta, OK 74429, 918-486-5515.
