William Grant Coday

William Grant Coday, age 89, of Coweta passed from this life on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at Coweta Manor Nursing Home. Grant was born on September 25, 1918 in Coweta, Oklahoma to William Clarence and Letha (Wheeler) Coday. He received his education in the Coweta school system. He joined the United States Army on April 1, 1944 and was honorably discharged on November 12, 1945. Grant and Linda Evans were united in marriage in Miami, Oklahoma. Grant was a construction worker. His hobbies included fishing and hunting. Left behind to cherish his memories is two sons, Bill Coday and his wife, Mary Gail, of Coweta, Oklahoma and Jimmy Coday and his wife, Sandra, of Collinsville, Oklahoma; four daughters, Barbara Sorenson, Wanda Johnson, Catherine Dover, and Patricia Johnson and her husband, Amos, all of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; two sisters, Claire Childers of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Jane Wilson of Stigler, Oklahoma; 17 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one son, one daughter, one sister, and two brothers. A graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday May 23, 2008 at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta with Rev. Alan Carson officiating.
