Wantha Ann Deaton, also known to many as “Othermama”, age 73, longtime resident of Coweta, Oklahoma went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 5, 2021 in Stillwater, Oklahoma.  Wantha was born on September 1, 1948 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Aaron Clarence and Wantha D. (Carter) Brady.  She was a 1966 graduate of Coweta High School and then attended Oklahoma University.  Wantha married Ronnie Deaton on September 4, 1967 and together they were blessed with three children, Brady, Joi, and Tiffany.  She worked at Oklahoma State University where she was a sorority mother.  Wantha was also previously a sorority mother at Tulsa University and Missouri State University.  She was a talented artist and loved painting.  Wantha loved the Lord and she lived her life to serve Him.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Coweta, Oklahoma and an active member of Victory Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  She loved her family dearly and loved everyone in her life.  Wantha was quick to forgive and full of love.  She touched so many lives with her generosity, passion, and desire to help people.  She was a loyal friend and deeply loved by those who knew her.

Wantha is lovingly survived by her son, Brady Deaton and his wife Amy of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her daughter, Joi Kilgore and her husband Marty of Coweta, Oklahoma; her son-in-law, Kevin Roberts of Porter, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren, Aaron Deaton and his wife Monica, Austin Deaton, Carter Roberts, Bayley Roberts, Kyle Kilgore, Aubrey Kilgore, Lindsey Kilgore, Brooke Kilgore, John Fetzer, Benjamin Fetzer, and Elizabeth Fetzer; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Wantha was preceded in death by her parents, Aaron Clarence and Wantha D. Brady and her daughter, Tiffany Roberts.

Visitation will be from 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta.  Services celebrating Wantha’s life be at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 10, 2021 at First Assembly of God, 501 N. Grant Ave., Sand Springs, Oklahoma 74063.  Wantha will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Pallbearers are Mike Stone, Mark Hatfield, Dick Cheasbro, Eddie Plunk, Eddie Green, and Wayne Gist.  Honorary Pallbearers are Aaron Deaton, Austin Deaton, Carter Roberts, Kyle Kilgore, John Fetzer, and Benjamin Fetzer.
