Wanda Bernice Snelson-Manasco

August 19, 1931 — June 5, 2023

Coweta

Wanda Bernice Snelson-Manasco, age 91, longtime Coweta resident entered into the Gates of Heaven on Monday morning, June 5, 2023 at the Village Health Care Center in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She was born on August 19, 1931, in Muldrow, Oklahoma to Virgil Henry and Thelma (Brock) Morgan.

Wanda attended Coweta Public Schools in Coweta, Oklahoma, where she formed lifelong friendships. She dedicated many years of her life to working at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she served in the coffee shop and as an emergency surgery assistant until her retirement in 1984. Wanda was known for her strong work ethic and commitment to helping others, and she continued to support her family after her retirement by helping to care for her grandchildren.

Wanda married George Oliver Snelson in 1955, and together they raised a loving family until his passing in 1973. Wanda later found love again with Oscar Pat Manasco, whom she married in 1981. The couple enjoyed many happy years together until Oscar's passing in 2006.

She was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Coweta. Wanda's faith was an essential part of her life. She treasured her church family and found great joy in attending services, reading her Bible, and living out her faith through acts of love and service to others.

Throughout her life, Wanda found great joy in gardening, tending to her beautiful flowers, and cooking delicious meals for her family. However, her greatest source of happiness came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy and pride to her life.

Wanda was blessed with a large and loving family. She is survived by her three children, James Oliver Snelson and wife Kay of Tulsa, Oklahoma, John Snelson and wife Carmen of Coweta, Oklahoma, and Necie Rainbolt and husband Bryan of Coweta, Oklahoma, and four step-children, Kathy Manasco, Beverly Manasco, Johnny Manasco, and Mike Manasco. She also leaves behind her special daughter-in-law, Cathy Snelson of Coweta, Oklahoma, five grandchildren, Johnny Snelson and wife Tera, Brandon Rainbolt and wife Athena, Crystal Abel and husband Adam, Brittany Dalton and husband Robert, and Chad Rainbolt and wife Sarah, as well as 19 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, George Oliver Snelson, her second husband, Oscar Pat Manasco, her parents, Virgil and Thelma Morgan, her sons, Billy Kaiser and Gary Snelson, her step-son, Roger Manasco, and seven brothers and sisters, Carmel Morgan, Arvel Morgan, Helen Thompson, Wilma Drain, Alpha Cooper, Sue Morgan, and Clifford "Sunny" Morgan.
