Wanda June Reid

Wanda "June" Reid, age 81, resident of Coweta passed away on Friday morning, February 4, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK after an extended illness. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt to her family. June was born on August 12, 1929 in Pryor, OK to Albert and Dora (Garrett) Duncan. In 1949, she graduated from high school in Pryor, OK. June married Thomas W. Reid on January 14, 1950 in Tulsa, OK and they had just celebrated 61 years of marriage. She was a homemaker for most of her life. June was an avid antique collector and she enjoyed attending auctions in OK, KS, AR and MO. She also enjoyed gardening. She will be dearly missed by her loved ones and friends. June is lovingly survived by her husband, Thomas W. Reid of the home; two sons, Thomas W. Reid, Jr. and his wife, Lisa, of Tulsa, OK and Lawrence E. Reid of Coweta, OK; her sister, Nita Thompson of Redding, CA; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. June was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers and 5 sisters. Funeral services for June will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 11, 2011 at Wright Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta with Rex Shrum officiating. Viewing will be held from 9 - 10 a.m. before the service. Burial will follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, OK.
