Wanda Barnett

Wanda Oleta Barnett was born October 8, 1929, in Stewart, Oklahoma to loving parents George O. Ray and Ethel M. (Forrest) Ray. The third born of 5 siblings, Wanda is predeceased by brothers Orval O. Ray and Norman L. Ray, James D. Ray and survived by sister, Georgia O. (Ray) Wade. Wanda grew up in Oklahoma City, OK and graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1947. She met Luther Barnett in December, 1947, while Christmas caroling with church members from Central Avenue Baptist Church, which both Wanda and Luther were long time members until they moved to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma in 1969. Wanda and Luther were united in marriage on July 17, 1948, were married 69 years and had three children: Donna Gail, Patti Marie and Luther Jay. Wanda was employed by APCO Oil Company while living in Oklahoma City, OK. After moving to Broken Arrow, she worked for Telex Computer Products until she retired. Wanda enjoyed raising her children and taking many wonderful trips with her husband, Luther. Wanda is survived by her husband: Luther; daughter: Donna Gail and husband Gary Hayes;
daughter: Patti Marie Morales and husband Guillermo Morales; son: Luther Jay and wife Sue Barnett; sister: Georgia (Ray) Wade; grandsons: Daniel Preston Hayes, Michael Scott Hayes, Chad DeWayne Hayes, Tate Michael Egdahl and grand-daughter: Lindsay Erin Stanford. Wanda was blessed with 9 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and many loving nieces and nephews. Wanda was truly blessed in life, deeply religious, very giving and very loving. She will be deeply missed.
