Walter Thomas "Wally" Shaw, Jr.

Walter Thomas "Wally" Shaw, Jr., age 56, resident of Coweta departed this life on Wednesday afternoon, October 16, 2019 at his home in Coweta, OK surrounded by his family. Wally was born on January 18, 1963 in Middletown, CT and was the son of Walter Thomas Shaw, Sr. and Bonnie Jane (Pence) Hoops. Wally was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, serving in Desert Storm. Wally entered the Navy on December 7, 1987 and was honorably discharged on December 2, 1991. In 1994, Wally married the love of his life, Vickie Lyne (Austin) Shaw. Wally worked as a Machinist and Press Line Supervisor at Molded Products, Inc. in Broken Arrow for 24 years. Wally was a member of the Coweta American Legion Post 226. Wally was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed helping coach his children in sports. Wally loved camping with his family and watching his favorite football teams, Kansas City Chiefs and OU. Wally is survived by his wife, Vickie Lyne Shaw of the home in Coweta, OK; three sons, Buck Thomas Shaw and wife Marecca of Wagoner, OK, Justin Thomas Shaw and wife Jalee of Wagoner, OK, and Billy Dale Shaw and wife Savannah of Coweta, OK; one stepson, BJ Moon of Coweta, OK; one stepdaughter, Leslie Lance of Haskell, OK; two brothers, James Shaw and wife Vicki and Lonnie Shaw and wife Tina; one sister, Dolorous Hillhouse and husband Larry; seven grandchildren, Gracie, Miranda, Willow, Joseph, Embrie, Sydnee, and Ethan; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Wally was preceded in death by his mother, Bonnie Jane Hoops; his father, Walter Thomas Shaw, Sr.; his stepfather, Leland L. Hoops; and his sister, LuAnn Field. A graveside service celebrating Wally's life will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, OK. The United States Navy will render military honors.
