Walter Van Hutson

Walter Van Hutson, age 70, resident of Coweta went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. Van was born on November 11, 1946 to Everett Randall and Cora Irene (Hooper) Hutson in Tulia, TX. He was a 1965 graduate of Coweta High School. Van married the love of his life, Janis L. McDaniel on July 13, 1979 in Broken Arrow, OK. He owned and operated Hutson Racing Engines for many years. He also worked as a concrete finisher. He enjoyed dancing, playing the keyboard, music, race cars, but most of all he loved watching his beloved SOONERS and spending time with his grandchildren and dogs. Van was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, Leldon Hutson, Jimmy Dee Hutson, Royce Hutson and Dwain Hutson and 1 sister, Cora Lyn Powers. Van is survived by his wife of 37 years, Janis Hutson of the home in Coweta, OK; 2 sons, Hollis Hutson and wife, Leah of Sequim, WA and Wade Hutson and wife, Melanie of Allen, TX; 2 daughters, Tracy Baltzell of Coweta, OK and Candy Owens of Coweta, OK; 3 brothers, Randall Hutson and wife, Virginia, Wendell Hutson and wife, Sue and Johnny Hutson and wife, Marcy; 2 sisters, Jeanne McCrary and Darlene Chavez; 11 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren on the way; 3 sister-in-laws, Elwanda Hutson, Ora Hutson and Myrna Hutson; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Viewing will be from 12-8 PM on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home with the family present from 5-7 PM. Services celebrating Van's life will be at 11 AM on Friday, May 26, 2017 at Coweta Assembly of God in Coweta, OK with Rev. Byron McCrary officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta. Pallbearers are Joe Jones, Damian Owens, Dillan Owens, Eric Hutson, Robert Brown, Dillan Cochrane, Kolt Huddleston and Jeremy Weaver. Honorary Pallbearers are Simmon Alexander and Dean Goforth.
