Vivian Mae Rogers, age 101, of Coweta, OK departed this life Tuesday, September, 2, 2009 at Village Health Care Center in Broken Arrow, OK. She was born on October 7, 1907 in Crowder, OK to James Presley and Mina Jane (Coyer) Miller. Vivian was a loving and caring mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother to her family. She received her education at the McCauber School. Vivian worked as a sales clerk for J.C. Penney and Katz Department Stores for 35 years until her retirement in 1972. She and Joseph Ezekiel Rogers were united in marriage on October 16, 1923 in Drumright, OK and he preceded her in death on July 4, 1983. She accepted Christ into her life at the age of 9. Vivian was a member of the Beams of Light Tabernacle Church in Tulsa, OK. Her hobbies included music, sewing, painting, and reading the Bible. Vivian will be greatly missed by those who knew her. Vivian is lovingly survived by three sons, Leon Rogers and his wife, Leona, of Shawnee, OK, Jimmie Nelson Rogers and his wife, Becky, of Coweta, OK, and Curtis Ray Rogers and his wife, Lillian, of Wagoner, OK; two daughters, Betty Jo Webb and her husband, Willis, of Ponca City, OK and Gala Maxine Fent and her husband, Ramon, of Miami, OK; 12 grandchildren: 25 great grandchildren: 10 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends. Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, one sister, and one grandson. Funeral services for Vivian will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 4, 2009 at Emmanuel Southern Baptist Church in Coweta, OK with Rev. Brett Rogers officiating. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Stillwater, OK. Family and friends may view the obituary and send condolences to the family online @ www.wrightfh.net.
