Virgil David Smittle, age 60, of Wagoner passed away Monday, November 25, 2013 at his home in Wagoner, Okla. David was born on May 1, 1953 in Tulsa, Okla. and was the son of Robert William and Anna Lillian (Davis) Smittle. He was a 1971 graduate from East Central High School in Tulsa. David married his best friend and soul mate, Pamela Black. He worked at AEP / Public Service Company of Oklahoma as a Power Plant Mechanic for 29 years until he retired in 2010. David was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union. He enjoyed cattle, fishing and hunting. David is survived by his mother, Anna Lillian Smittle of Coweta, Okla.; his sons, Jesse David Smittle and Robert Dillon Smittle, both of Wagoner, Okla.; his brother, Robert Dillon Smittle & wife, Brenda, of Coweta, Okla.; his sister, Billie Ann Seelig of Tulsa, Okla.; his best friend and soul mate, Pamela Smittle of Wagoner, Okla.; one grandson, Andrew Jesse Smittle; one granddaughter on the way, Aubrie Lynn Smittle; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. David was preceded in death by his father, Robert William Smittle. Viewing will be on Thursday, November 28, 2013 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Friday, November 29, 2013 at Cedar Ridge Christian Church in Coweta, Okla. with Pastor Randy Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, Okla. Pallbearers are Jesse David Smittle, Robert Dillon Smittle, Mike Caffey, Bob Smittle, Billy Smittle and Curby Fry.
