Virgie Marie Booth, age 82, of Coweta departed this life on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at SouthCrest Hospital in Tulsa, OK. She was born on September 25, 1927 in Coweta, OK to L. C. and Bertha M. (Burress) Murray. Virgie was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother to her family. She attended school in Coweta, OK. Virgie and William Alton Booth were married on January 2, 1946 in Coweta, OK. She worked as a cook at Booth's Café in Coweta, OK. Virgie was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Broken Arrow, OK. Her hobbies included cooking, shopping, singing, and she enjoyed being with her grandchildren. Virgie is lovingly survived by her six daughters, Sandy Lantroop, Jennie Shelton, Brenda August and her husband, Frank, all of Coweta, OK, Hope Nunley of Broken Arrow, OK, Rena Abel and her husband, Tom, of Haskell, OK, Sherry Holiman and her husband, Vince, of Haskell, OK, and Debbie Ghan and her husband, Randy, of Ft. Smith, AR; two brothers, Lee Murray of Clear Lake, CA and Charles Murray of Chickasha, OK; her sister, Dorothy Robinson of Norman, OK; 21 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Virgie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, one daughter, and four sisters. Funeral services for Virgie will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Coweta, OK with Rev. Audie Abel officiating.
