Violet Anna Stevens, age 93, went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday evening, May 18, 2020 at Glennwood Healthcare in Glenpool, OK. Violet was born May 20, 1926 in Winthrop, PA and was the daughter of Harry Richard and Elizabeth Eleanor (Stevey) Jones. She grew up in Pennsylvania and she married the love of her life, Lawrence Augustine Miller on October 7, 1950. They resided in Pennsyvlvania until 1983 when they moved to the Choska Bottoms in Oklahoma. In 1984, her husband Lawrence preceded her in death. Later she married Leonard Jackson Stevens and he preceded her in death in 2014. Violet was a devoted homemaker who loved taking care of her family. She enjoyed crafts, flowers, and collecting knickknacks. Violet was also a den mother with the cub scouts. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Violet is survived by her 4 children, David Lawrence Miller and wife Donna of Youngstown, PA, Frances Elaine Early and husband John of Sapulpa, OK, Carl Edward Miller and wife Angela of Catoosa, OK, and Leslie Joel Miller of Bonnie, IL; her daughter-in-law, Debra Miller of Broken Arrow, OK; 19 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Violet was preceded in death by her husbands, Lawrence Miller and Jack Stevens; her parents, Harry Richard and Elizabeth Eleanor Jones; and her son, Scott Michael Miller.
Viewing will be from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 24, 2020 at Brown Funeral Home. Services celebrating Violet’s life will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, OK with her son, David Miller officiating. She will be laid to rest at Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, OK.
