Viola Graves

Viola "Granny" Graves of Coweta, age 85, passed away peacefully Friday morning, October 26, 2012 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. Viola was born on September 11, 1927 in Stone Bluff, OK to Frank and Eva Mae (Barnes) Olden. She grew up and went to school in the Stone Bluff area. In 1945, she and Cecil Graves were married and they made their home along the Arkansas River south of Coweta. Viola was a homemaker most of her life and loved visiting with anyone, feeding the chickens and two stepping to country music. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, cooking, spending time with her family and she loved it when her friend's stopped by to visit her. Viola will be missed as a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. Viola is lovingly survived by her 6 children, Marie Williams and husband, Lavern, of Coweta, Charles Graves and wife, Pat, of Coweta, Floyd Graves and wife, Cherry, of Wagoner, Lowell Graves and wife, Connie, of Wagoner, Jimmy Graves of Coweta and Lenny Graves and wife, Lisa, of Haskell; 15 grandkids, Gary, Robert, Janice, Jackie Sue, Sarah, Bubba, Josh, Jessie, Eugene, Cecil, B.J., Bryan, Erin, Jenny and Keith; 14 great grandkids; her baby sister, Gladys Sanders of Dallas, TX; a host of beloved nieces and nephews; and her precious dog, "Dolly". Viola was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Graves, her parents, Frank and Eva Mae Olden, 3 sisters, Carrie, Ruby and Bea and 4 brothers, Clarence, Cotton, Bill and Dave. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Monday evening, October 29, 2012 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral services for Viola are scheduled for 10:00 AM Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at the Lighthouse Tabernacle Church, 207 S. Bixby St. Coweta, OK. Pastor Mike Hughart will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Haskell Cemetery. Pallbearers are Bubba Graves, Eugene Graves, Cecil Graves, Bryan Graves, Robert Williams, Gary Williams, Bobby Graves and Keith Graves. Josh Graves will serve as an Honorary Pallbearer. The family of Viola "Granny" Graves entrusted her care and services to Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home, 210 S.
