Verna Lee Price-Carr

Verna Lee Price-Carr was born on April 17, 1925 to Harlan and Ruth (Worley) Reynolds in Pawnee, Oklahoma.  She went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday evening, September 13, 2022 at her home in Coweta, Oklahoma surrounded by her family at the age of 97 years, 4 months, and 27 days.

She attended several schools in Oklahoma and married Glenn Pruitt Price on June 3, 1942 in Checotah, Oklahoma.  Verna and Glenn were blessed with two daughters, Judy and Glenda and were happily married until his death in October of 2009.  They owned three grocery stores in Coweta from 1948-1952.  She also worked at various dress stores.

Verna was saved and baptized at the First Baptist Church in Coweta at the age of 19 years old.  She loved her family and enjoyed playing games with them.

Verna and Buddy Carr were married at County Line Baptist Church in Broken Arrow, where she was a member for 40 years.  They resided in Coweta until the time of her death.  Verna and Buddy loved playing music for Assisted Living Homes.  They met at a church where Buddy was playing music.  She thought Buddy was the most talented musician she had ever met, and it was “Love at First Sight”.  They were also good dancers and won a dance contest in Louisiana, while on vacation.

Verna is survived by her husband, Buddy Carr; her 2 daughters, Judy and husband Calvin Easley and Glenda and husband David Hickam; 6 grandchildren, Terry Easley and wife Konnie, Tina Schroeder and husband Dave, Teresa Poplin and husband Kirk, Toby Easley and wife Kim, Tonja Eads and husband Ron, and Sonya Langley; 22 great grandchildren; and 49 great-great grandchildren.

Verna was preceded in death by her parents, Harlan and Ruth Reynolds, her first husband, Glenn Price, her sisters, Lorene Sexton and Dortha Martin, and her brother, Sonny Reynolds.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 6:00 PM on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta, Oklahoma.  Services celebrating Verna’s life will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, September 19, 2022 at the First Baptist Church in Coweta, Oklahoma.  Verna will be laid to rest next to her first husband of 68 years, Glenn Price at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, Oklahoma.

Pallbearers are Kirk Poplin, Ron Eads, Dave Schroeder, Aaron Rankin, Rich Stukey, and Gordon Brown.
