Vergie Marie Chambers

Vergie Marie Chambers, age 88, resident of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma went to be with her Lord on Monday, January 17, 2022.  Vergie was born on May 25, 1933 in Aline, Oklahoma to Lee F. and Bessie D. (Jones) Leavenworth.  She retired from Arkansas Valley State Bank in 1995.

Vergie was preceded in death by her parents, Lee F. and Bessie D. Leavenworth, her husband, Norman Chambers, Sr., five sisters, and three brothers.

Vergie is survived by three daughters, Marilyn Reames of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Karen Mills of Powell, Missouri, and Peggy Carpenter of Mannford, Oklahoma; two sons, Terry Chambers of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Norman Chambers, Jr. of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be from 1:00 – 6:00 PM on Saturday, January 22, 2022 and 1:00 – 6:00 PM on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at Brown Funeral Home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.  Services celebrating Vergie’s life will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 24, 2022 at Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma with Rev. Leon Schneider officiating.  Vergie will be laid to rest at Park Grove Cemetery in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
