Vera "Jeannie" Childers

Vera Jean "Jeannie" Childers, age 56, resident of Coweta went to be with her Lord on Saturday evening, September 9, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK surrounded by her family. Jeannie was born on May 24, 1961 to Charles Daniel and Lorene Ethel (Dushane) White in Grants, NM. She was a 1979 graduate of Rogers High School in Tulsa. After she graduated high school, she attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK. Jeannie married her best friend and life-long love, Kenneth LeRoy Childers, Jr. on October 24, 1987 in Tulsa, OK. She was a devoted homemaker who loved caring for her family, especially her two sons. Jeannie was a member of the Shawnee Chapter Native American Church. She enjoyed stomp dancing, going to pow wows, shopping, cooking, holiday activities with the family, but most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends. Jeannie was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Daniel and Lorene Ethel White and 1 sister, Valerie Applegate. Jeannie is lovingly survived by her husband of 29 years, Kenneth "Kenny" Childers, Jr. of the home in Coweta, OK; 2 sons, Chasen Ree Childers and wife, Calah of Coweta, OK and Dallas Lane Childers of Coweta, OK; 2 sisters, Lynette Johnson and husband, Roscoe of Sand Springs, OK and Kathie Rae Kent and husband, Garland; 2 brothers, Charles Daniel White, Jr. and wife, Paige of Tulsa, OK and Clayton Grant White and wife, Tammy of Tulsa, OK; 1 grandson, Gentri Mose Childers; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Viewing will be from 3-7 PM on Monday, September 11, 2017 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home with the family present from 5-7 PM. Services celebrating Jeannie's life will be at 10 AM on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Coweta, OK with Walter Dye officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK. Pallbearers are Brett White, Eaan Lowrance, Rusty Lowrance, Wesley White, Richard "Bubba" Applegate, Codey Baucom, Gage Hogan and Evan White. Honorary Pallbearers are Roscoe "Rusty" Johnson, Fred Liest, Jeff "Dude" Blalock, Rob Blalock, Kent Blair, Eric Wensman, Benny Parkerson, David Tyner and Garland Kent.
