Velta Hill

Velta Ruth Hill, age 66, of Coweta passed away on Sunday evening, November 14, 2010 at her home in Coweta, OK. She was a loving and caring mother, sister and aunt. Velta was born on July 7, 1944 in Mingo, OK to the late William Henry and Bertie Manila (McElfresh) Bowers. She graduated from McLain High School in 1962. Velta and Logan Carl Hill were married on May 7, 1965 in Tulsa, OK and they later divorced. In 2002, she moved from Tulsa, OK to Coweta, OK where she made her home for the past 8 years. Velta was a homemaker for most of her life. Her hobbies included watching television, playing on the computer and she loved her cat "Baby Girl". Velta is lovingly survived by her son, William Carl Hill of Coweta, OK; two brothers, Joseph Lemuel Bowers and his wife, Lois, of Owasso, OK and Abbie Dale Bowers of Tulsa, OK; four sisters, Jennie Viola Horner of Coweta, OK, Alta Louise Kiriokos of Enid, OK, Minnie Belle Minehart of Coweta, OK and Darlene Marie Eursery and her husband, Andy, of Coweta, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Velta was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Ramond Thomas Bowers, William "Henry" Bowers, Jr. and Hubert "Ray" Bowers and the love of her life, Logan Carl Hill. A memorial service for Velta will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 18, 2010 at Wright Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, OK.
