Van Coffman

Van Coffman, age 72, departed this life on Wednesday evening, January 27, 2021 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was a long-time resident of Coweta, OK. Van was born on August 30, 1948 as the son of David Allen “D.A.”. and Ruby Alice (Meadows) Coffman. He graduated from Barnsdall High School. Van served in the United States Armed Forces. He was a hard worker all his life, had many jobs, and owned a successful trucking business. Van was an active member of the Masonic Lodge and American Legion for many years. He was awarded the 33rd Degree by the Scottish Rite Supreme Counsel, in recognition of outstanding service to the Rite. Van was proud of his 34 years of sobriety and felt he was rewarded with a family. He enjoyed motorcycles, corvettes, going to car shows, telling stories, attending Big Heart Day, spending time with his family, friends, and listening to Willie Nelson.

Van is survived by Dana Patten and their two daughters Aura Coffman, Lenai Gibbs and husband Garrett; four stepchildren, Amy Hosch and husband Jonathan, Kerensa Ward and husband Josh, Charlotta Floyd and husband Jabbar, and Tres Lowrance and wife Mandi; two brothers, Robert Coffman of Wynona, Oklahoma, and Raymond Coffman and wife Wanda of Barnsdall, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Van was preceded in death by his parents, D.A., and Ruby Coffman and sister, Alice Mary Lou Lawrence.

Viewing will begin at 9:00 AM on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta, Oklahoma with the funeral service following at 10:00 AM.
