Tyrone Simmons

Tyrone Russell Simmons, age 66, longtime resident of Coweta departed from this life on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at his residence. He was born on September 9, 1943 in Fresno, CA to Raymond R. and Bernice (Plunk) Simmons. Tyrone was a loving son and brother to his family. He grew up in Coweta and attended school in Porter, OK. Tyrone worked as a brick mason for Jerry Plunk and Jack Hewitt for over 20 years. His hobbies included fishing and watching OU football and basketball. Tyrone will be greatly missed by his family. Tyrone is lovingly survived by his parents, Raymond and Bernice Simmons of Hominy, OK; his two sisters, Loretta Horine of Hominy, OK and Ronda Campbell and her husband, Tim, of Skiatook, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Tyrone was preceded in death by two brothers, Dariel Simmons and Terry Lee Simmons. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at Wright Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, OK with Rev. David Jones officiating.
