T.J. Jared

T.J. Jared, Jr. of Coweta departed this life on Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at Coweta Manor Nursing Home in Coweta at the age of 87 years. He was born on January 25, 1921 in Ada, OK to T.J., Sr. and Laura M. (Roberts) Jared. T.J. was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather to his family. He attended Love Lady School in Ada, OK and Tulsa Public Schools. He then attended Bible Training School in Cleveland, TN for 3 years. T.J. and Melba Black were united in marriage on November 3, 1940 in Allen, OK and she preceded him in death on July 14, 2004. He was a minister for over 40 years until his retirement in 1994. Throughout T.J.'s ministry he ministered at many different churches around the area. He was a District Overseer and an associate pastor for the Church of God of Prophecy. In 1985, he and Melba moved from Allen, OK to Coweta, OK where they decided to make their home. T.J. was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. He enjoyed doing church work, ministering to people, and gardening. T.J. will be greatly missed by all those who knew him. T.J. was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, 3 brothers, and 4 sisters. He is survived by his sons, Bob L. Jared and his wife, Ruth, of Coweta and T. Michael Jared and his wife, Karen, of Salem, Oregon; his daughter, Donna Guerrero and her husband, Raul, of Montebello, California; his brother, Clive Jared of Coweta; his sister, Betty J. McKenzie of Salem, Oregon; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 19, 2009 at the Church of God of Prophecy in Coweta with Pastor Larry Brown and Clive Jared officiating. Burial will be at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, January 19, 2009 at Allen Cemetery in Allen, OK. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, January 18, 2009 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Arrangements and services are under the direction of Wright Funeral Home, Coweta.
