Tianna Dawn Ellis, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 55. She was Born on July 9, 1969, in Sherman, Texas. Tianna's life was a testament to her kind-hearted nature and her unwavering commitment to her family and community.
Tianna's early life in Sherman laid the foundation for her nurturing spirit. She graduated from Jenks High School in 1987 with a close-knit circle of friends and a heart full of dreams. Tianna furthered her education at The University of Tulsa. In 1994, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and was a proud member of the Phi Mu Sorority. Her time at the university not only shaped her professional path but also deepened her love for helping others.
After completing her education, Tianna dedicated her career to the service of others. She was employed by the State of Oklahoma Department of Human Services and later retired from the Oklahoma Department of Education. Her work impacted many lives, touching the hearts of those she helped with her compassion and dedication. Tianna was also an active member of the Carbondale Assembly of God in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she cultivated lasting relationships and served her community with joy.
Tianna's life was rich with love, as she was surrounded by a devoted family. She is survived by her mother, Ruth Etta Jacobs of Jenks, OK; her husband, Robert David Ellis of the home; her daughter, Victoria Zelsnack and husband Sedrick of Tulsa, OK; her son, Charles Ellis and wife Tiffani of San Angelo, TX; and her cherished grandchildren, Kaylee Zelsnack and partner Jimmie Waller, Michael Zelsnack, Asher Gonzalez, Kingston Ellis, Kai Ellis, and Chandler Zelsnack, as well as her great-granddaughter, Juliana Waller. Tianna's love extended to her brothers, Brian Goss of Tulsa, OK, and Lane Jacobs DO and wife Tamara of Charlotte, NC; her sister, Julie K. Lackey and husband Tom of Owasso, OK; her uncle Andy Rozeboom and aunt Linda of Denver, CO; her aunt Esther Cozard and uncle Rock of Sherman, TX, her aunt Karen Goss and husband Richard Michie; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends, including Dan and Laura Biffle.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Wayne Goss; her aunt Janet Goss Reynolds; her stepfather, Curtis Jacobs; and several aunts and uncles who held special places in her heart.
Tianna's hobbies and interests reflected her loving and kind nature. She found joy in watching Hallmark movies and had a flair for decorating for the holidays, bringing warmth and cheer to all around her. True to her patriotic spirit, Tianna enjoyed incorporating the colors of the flag into her life wherever she could. She was always seeking to cultivate new skills, but more importantly, she cherished the time spent nurturing relationships with her family.
Those who knew Tianna will remember her as a faith-filled, loving, and kind soul who brought light and love to everyone she encountered. Her legacy will live on in the lives of those she touched, the community she served, and the family she adored. Tianna Dawn Ellis will be deeply missed, yet her spirit will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her. Her life was a beautiful illustration of the impact one person can have when they live with an open heart and a steadfast commitment to making the world a better place.
