Theres Mary Opoku

Theres Mary Opoku-Boakye was born on October 23, 1964 in Accra, Ghana, to father, Mr. Kofi Nukuteye and mother, Florence Nukuteye. She grew up in Ghana where she attended The Royal Academy of Accountancy College, and studied stenography. She started working with the Nuguchi Memorial Research Institute and with the American Embassy in Accra, Ghana before migrating to the United States in 1991. Mary met her husband, Joseph Opoku-Boakye in Springfield, Virginia, and married Joseph at the Word of Life Assemblies of God Church in 1998. She attended Northern Virginia community Collage and later proceeded to George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia to study communication while working as a Court Clerk in the Fairfax Circuit Court. Mary's heartfelt desire was to go into the ministry. She embraced her call to the ministry and relocated to Broken Arrow,Oklahoma with her husband in 2011 to attend Rhema Bible Training Collage, where she graduated in 2013. She was dedicated to the work of God and prayers throughout her life, and remained a strong, prayerful woman of faith, even throughout her final months. Mary is survived by her husband, mother, and four siblings. Mary was loved by all, and will be missed by all.
