Terry Roberts

Terry Wayne Roberts, age 63, of Coweta departed this life on Thursday morning, July 22, 2010 at the Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center in Muskogee, OK. He was born on June 23, 1947 in Coweta, OK to James E. "Bud" and Betty Gene (Morton) Roberts. Terry was a loving father, brother, and grandfather to his family and a great friend to many. He was born and raised in Coweta and graduated from Coweta High School in 1965. Terry worked as a self-employed truck driver for over 30 years. He enlisted in the United States Navy on May 1, 1967 and was honorably discharged on October 5, 1968. Terry was of the First Christian faith. He was a member of the V.F.W., American Legion, D.A.V., and the Masonic Lodge. His hobbies included spending time with his children, grandchildren, family, and old cars. Terry will be greatly missed. Terry is lovingly survived by his two sons, Anthony Wayne Roberts and Bryce Edward Roberts, both of Coweta, OK; his daughter, Jeana Shea (Roberts) Steele of Coweta, OK; his brother, James "Jimbo" E. Roberts, Jr. of Coweta, OK; his sister, Karen Kay Roberts of Coweta, OK; four grandchildren, Dallas Roberts, James Edward Steele, Nolan Roberts, and Jodi Lynn Steele; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Terry was preceded in death by his parents, James E. "Bud" Roberts and Betty Gene (Morton) Roberts. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at the First Christian Church in Coweta with Pastor Allan Swinson officiating.
