Terry Dean Reed arrived in this world on May 18, 1955. He was born to Herman Roland Reed and Roberta "Parkhurst" Reed. He was given a little brother, Carl Dwayne Reed, a couple of years later. His parents divorced when he was quite young but he had several special doting aunts and a very special grandma "Dona Reed" who nurtured him and gave him lots of motherly love. A few years later, his world expanded when his Dad remarried. His stepmother Roberta "Gill" Reed became "Mom". He inherited Grandpa and Grandma Gill, along with an uncle, aunt and several cousins. He received another little brother, Herman Ray Reed "Herm" several years later. Terry graduated from Coweta High School in 1974 where he met his future bride, Sharon Kay Gillenwater. They dated, then married eleven months later on October 23, 1975. He told his son-in-law, later in life, that he learned to remember that special day by creating the phrase "10-23, the last day I was free". His quick wit and humbleness were two qualities that made him special and fun to be around. He enjoyed teasing Sharon, just to get her riled. Then he would grin and give her a hug. In 1978, God gave them a son, Lesley Roland Reed "Les" and in 1980 a daughter, Amanda Kaye Reed Voyles, "K-Bob". In 2004 their family expanded with the addition of a son-in law, Rusty Ray Voyles, followed by the Light of his Life, granddaughter Ava Kay Voyles in 2008 and "Mikey" Michael Justin Ray Voyles in 2011. Terry was full of life and worked hard at anything he set out to do. His career choices started at a ripe young age dating back as far as grade school. He mowed lawns, ran paper routes, worked as a grocery stocker, pizza maker, gas station attendant, food sales distributor, sandwich vendor sales, and finally landing his final career working in the airline industry. He worked for TK International and moved to American Airlines in March of 1985. He was certified as a welder and with this skill, worked in various shops at American until his retirement in August 2015. He committed his life to God in 1979 and enjoyed serving the Lord. He and Sharon attended New Home Free Will Baptist early in his Christian walk until the Lord called him to serve Clarksville Free Will Baptist Church a short time later. It is there that he was mentored by his beloved pastor and friend, Virgil Meadows. It is also there that he became a member of the church and served as Deacon from 4-19-1981 until 2007. Over the many years of service to the Lord, he met and enjoyed the friendship of many brothers and sisters in Christ. In addition, he enjoyed being around his family and friends, working around his farm, driving tractors, raising cattle, planting gardens, wood working, smoking meats, fishing and his greatest passion hunting wildlife with gun and bow. Many of his fondest memories were made while sharing time with God, family and friends on fishing trips, turkey hunts and deer hunts. He battled his illness with the same determination and endurance that were a natural part of him until his departure from this world shortly after midnight on October 31, 2015, in the fall, his favorite season of the year. He was preceded in death by his Father, Herman and his mother Roberta. He left behind to celebrate his life, his wife Sharon, of the home. His son Les, Tulsa, OK.
