Tara Roxanne Bishop, age 59, resident of Tulsa, OK, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 29, 2024, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK. She was born on January 5, 1965, in Ft. Sill, OK, to Jerry Wayne and Carlyn Faye (East) Fryer. Tara's life was a testament to the power of kindness, creativity, and unwavering commitment to her family.
A proud graduate of Memorial High School in 1984, Tara continued her education at Tulsa Community College, enriching her mind and spirit. Her professional journey as a personal care assistant in home health care showcased her innate compassion and dedication to helping others.
Tara's heart found its match in Gerald Eugene Bishop, and they united in marriage on July 29, 1995, in Miami, OK. Together, they built a life filled with joy, laughter, and cherished memories. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Tulsa, Tara's faith was a cornerstone of her existence, guiding her through life's challenges and celebrations.
Her artistic soul shone brightly through her photography and artwork, capturing the beauty of the world and the essence of the moments she held dear. Tara's hands were rarely still, as she found solace and joy in crocheting and baking desserts that delighted the taste buds of all who were lucky enough to sample them.
Family was the center of Tara's world. She is survived by her loving husband, Gerald Bishop; her children, Erin Nasuta (Brett), Forrest Fryer (Jessica Toyebo), and Jacob Bishop (Tara); her cherished grandchildren, Thomas Eslick, Mi-shelle Wilson-Gaitor (Jordan), Aria Fryer, Xavier Wood, Richard Nasuta, and Octavia Bishop; and her adored great-grandchildren, Mazikeen Rodriquez, and Ryder Riske. Tara also leaves behind her siblings, Sherrelyn Kimberlin, Jerry Fryer II, Ellen Fryer (Sunny), Keith Fryer, and Joshua Fryer, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives who will miss her deeply.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Jerry and Carlyn Fryer, and her son, Michael Ebald. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and she carried their memories with her every day.
Tara's legacy is one of unwavering love and guidance. She was the family's compass, always pointing them in the right direction with her wisdom and grace. Her passion for history and storytelling enriched the lives of her family, who were captivated by her beautiful letters and poetry. The grandkids and great-grandbabies were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them, instilling in them the values of love, family, and faith.
Tara’s journey on earth may have come to a close, but her spirit, love, and the memories she created will continue to guide and inspire all who knew her for generations to come.
Visitation for Tara will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Brown Funeral Home in Broken Arrow, OK. The final viewing will take place from 10:30 to 11:30 AM on Friday, December 6, 2024, followed by the funeral service at 11:30 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 12110 East 7th Street, Tulsa, OK 74128.
