Sybil Joyce Taylor

Sybil Joyce Taylor, age 81, longtime Coweta resident went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday morning, November 26, 2019 at Coweta Manor Nursing Home in Coweta, OK surrounded by her family. Sybil was born on December 27, 1937 in Little Rock, AR and was the daughter of Mike and Hazel (Graham) Sullivan. She was a graduate of Robinson High School in Little Rock, AR. Sybil married the love of her life, James Arvel Taylor on February 17, 1956 in Little Rock, AR. She worked for the United States Postal Service as a Rural Carrier for many years. She was a member of The Rural Letter Carriers' Association. Sybil helped establish the First Baptist Church preschool and was the director for the preschool and was the Vacation Bible School director for many years. She was a wonderful Sunday School Teacher and taught young married couples. Sybil enjoyed fishing, knitting, sewing, teaching, gardening, cake decorating, and beekeeping. She loved her family, the outdoors, and her animals. Sybil is survived by her husband, James Arvel Taylor; two sons, James A. Taylor Jr. and wife Cheryl and Larry E. Taylor and wife Connie; one daughter, Mary L. Fuqua and husband Todd; five grandchildren, Chelsie Taylor, Jayme Taylor and wife Kourtney, Channing Wedel, Larry Taylor Jr. and wife Megan, and Sydney Fuqua; three great grandchildren, Reece Taylor, Maggie Taylor, and Gracie Taylor; two brothers, Ralph Sullivan and wife June and Graham Sullivan and wife Connie; her best friend and sister, Marlene Swanson; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Sybil was preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Hazel Sullivan. Viewing will be from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at Brown Family Funeral Home. Services celebrating Sybil's life will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 29, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Coweta, OK with Pastor Vern Charette officiating. A service in Arkansas will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at the Romance Church of Christ in Romance, AR with burial following in Romance Cemetery.
