Suzanne Walkup

Suzanne Walkup, age 78, longtime resident of Coweta, entered into the Gates of Heaven on Monday, September 4, 2023, at The Courtyards at Claremore Assisted Living in Claremore, OK surrounded by her family. She was born on October 21, 1944, in Tulsa, OK to Wilburn Johnson and Katherine “Pearl” (Phillips) Greer. Suzanne lived a life filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to her family and faith.

Suzanne spent her professional life serving others in the retail industry. She worked at Young World Shoppe in Claremore, Anthony's in Broken Arrow, and Hale Halsell. Her dedication to her work was equaled only by her devotion to her family and her faith. Suzanne was a faithful member of the First Christian Church in Coweta, OK, where she found great comfort and community.

In 1995, Suzanne married the love of her life, William "Wyatt" Walkup, Jr., in a beautiful ceremony in Las Vegas, NV. Their marriage was filled with shared interests and mutual respect. They enjoyed shopping, traveling, and camping together. They also cherished spending time at the lake, creating memories that their family will forever hold dear.

Suzanne had a special love for her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a constant source of love and support, always there with a comforting word or a warm hug. She also had a deep appreciation for the beauty of nature, especially daisies, which brought her great joy.

Suzanne is survived by her children, Tammy Henderson (Darrell), Terri Bowzer (Jerry Goss), Kathy Jo Davis, and Karen Campbell (David); her brother, Charles Edward "Eddy" Greer (Carol); 8 grandchildren, Alicia Osten (Louis), Ashley Clark, Baylie Fisher (Brent), Brooks Bowzer (Anna), Chelsea Chaney (DJ), Katie Davis, Caitlin Campbell (Jeremy Zornes), and Sarah Ivy (Bailey); 7 great-grandchildren, Carver, Lincoln, Benji, Deacon, Waylon, Sawyer, and Vera; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Suzanne was preceded in death by her husband, William "Wyatt" Walkup, Jr., her parents, Wilburn Johnson and Katherine "Pearl" Greer, and 3 great-grandchildren, Leon, Easton, and Drake.

Visitation will be held before the service from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at the First Christian Church in Coweta, OK. Services celebrating Suzanne's life will follow at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Jeff King officiating. Suzanne will be laid to rest at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK.
