Sonya DeAnn (Klinger) Langley, age 56, resident of Fort Smith, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord peacefully on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at the Cottage at Woodland Hills in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on August 21, 1967, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Sonya lived a life full of love, laughter, and a unique sense of humor that touched everyone she met.
Sonya was preceded in death by her father, Robert Klinger.
She is survived by her mother and stepfather, David and Glenda Hickam of Coweta, Oklahoma. Sonya was a devoted mother to her children, Glenn Brown of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jonathan Brown and his wife Siera of Alma, Arkansas, David Brown of Phoenix, Arizona, and Heather Swink and her husband Matthew of Pocola, Oklahoma. She was also a cherished grandmother to Zurri and Nova Brown, Anna and Henry Brown, and Zyion, Darian, Mia, Brielle, Adair, and Violet Swink.
Sonya's early years were spent in Tulsa, Broken Arrow, and Poteau, where she attended public schools. She graduated from Poteau High School, a testament to her dedication and hard work. Sonya's professional life was spent in retail and banking, where she was known for her diligence and commitment to her work.
Sonya was a woman of faith, attending the Grand Avenue Baptist Church in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, providing her with strength and guidance throughout her journey.
Sonya had a special bond with her dog, Bella, who was a constant source of companionship and joy. She also had a creative streak, finding great pleasure in painting fingernails. Sonya was also a fan of horror movies, a genre she enjoyed in her spare time.
Above all, Sonya will be remembered for her sense of humor. She had a unique ability to find the funny side of life, a trait that endeared her to many. Her laughter was infectious, and her ability to lighten any situation was a gift that will be sorely missed.
A memorial service celebrating Sonya's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at the County Line Baptist Church in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. This will be a time for family and friends to come together, share memories, and celebrate the life of a woman who touched so many.
