Seth Thomas Copes, a man known for his kind and gentle heart and an amazing sense of humor, went to his Heavenly home on January 24, 2024, at the age of 50. He was born on March 5, 1973, in Monroe, Louisiana to William Bert and Martha Jane (Thomas) Ball.
Seth is survived by his wife, Kara Copes; his daughters, Madison, Morgan, and Katy Copes; his mother, Martha Jane Ball; his sister, Jenn (Copes) Kolb; his brother, Bart Copes; his mother-in-law, Carlie; his grandchildren, Hunter, Weston, and Harper; and numerous nieces and a nephew.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Bert Copes and his maternal grandparents, Karey Lee and Gertie Thomas.
An alumnus of Rhema Bible College, Seth graduated in 1995, equipped with the knowledge and faith that would guide him through life's journey. His career as a FedEx truck driver was a testament to his work ethic and his commitment to serving others. Seth's colleagues knew him as a reliable and cheerful presence, always ready with a joke or a helping hand.
Seth's sudden passing was a result of colon cancer that had gone undetected and spread to his liver. Despite the brevity of his illness, Seth faced his challenges with courage and grace, leaving those around him in awe of his strength and resilience.
Seth's departure from this world leaves a void that can never be filled, but his spirit will continue to inspire those who knew him to live with kindness, humor, and an open heart. His legacy is one of love, laughter, and the simple joys of life—a legacy that will endure in the hearts of his loved ones forever.
