Sarah Ann Murphy

Sarah Ann Murphy, age 76, resident of Broken Arrow passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, August 14, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital South in Tulsa, OK. She was born on January 2, 1938 in Tulsa, OK to Cecil Washington and Edith Eleanor (Phillips) White. Sarah was a 1955 graduate of Central High School in Tulsa, OK. She and Jimmie Murphy Sr. were united in marriage on August 3, 1956 in Tulsa, OK. Sarah was a seamstress and homemaker for most of her life. She was a member of Grace Free Will Baptist Church in Broken Arrow. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crossword puzzles, watching game shows and spending time with her family. Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Edith White and 2 brothers, Phil White and Ed "Maurice" White. Sarah is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jim Murphy Sr. of the home in Broken Arrow, OK; 6 children, Jim Murphy Jr. and wife, Apryl, of Broken Arrow, OK, Fred Murphy and wife, Stacey, of Tulsa, OK, Melanie Sipperly and husband, Scott, of Tulsa, OK, Mark Murphy and wife, Rhonda, of Coweta, OK, Mike Murphy and wife, Katrina, of Coweta, OK and Gary Murphy and wife, Kim, of Coweta, OK; 1 brother, Don White and wife, Karen, of Springdale, AR; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; special cousins, Leon & Betty Briger; special niece and nephew, Corky and Jerry Denton; great niece, Jana Sunderland; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Viewing will be from 9 AM - 8 PM on Monday, August 18, 2014 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home with the family greeting friends from 5 PM - 8 PM. Funeral services celebrating the life of Sarah will be at 2 PM on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Grace Free Will Baptist Church in Broken Arrow, OK with Rev. Kraig Spivey officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta. Pallbearers are Mitchell Murphy, Jason Murphy, Travis Sipperly, Josh Murphy, Spencer Murphy and Logan Jones.
