Sandra Kay Hughes

Sandra Kay Hughes, age 72, longtime resident of Coweta, OK went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday morning, October 20, 2015 in Tulsa, OK. Kay was born on October 3, 1943 to Orvile Leroy and Lydia Bell (Stout) Ogle in Tulsa, OK. She was a graduate of Broken Arrow High School. Kay and Dennis Hughes were married on October 21, 1962 in Broken Arrow, OK. She worked as a teacher's aide at Coweta Public Schools for 36 years until she retired in 2008. Kay was a member of the First Christian Church in Coweta, OK. She enjoyed watching basketball, fishing, participating in the Relay For Life and she loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. She will be missed as a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. Kay is lovingly survived by her husband, Dennis Hughes of the home in Coweta, OK; 2 sons, Matt Hughes and wife, Nicole of Tulsa, OK and Mike Hughes and wife, Erica of Bixby, OK; 1 sister, Betty Martin and husband, Jim of Ft. Gibson, OK; 1 brother, Leroy Ogle and wife, Elizabeth of Tulsa, OK; 5 grandchildren, Aubrey, Matthew, Hunter, Harrison and Mattie; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Orvile and Lydia Ogle, an infant daughter, Denise Hughes and 2 sisters, Ruby Rhinehart and Dorothy Duke. Viewing will be from 9 AM - 8 PM on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6-8 PM. Funeral services celebrating Kay's life will be at 2 PM on Friday, October 23, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Coweta, OK with Pastor Tim Dotson officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK. Pallbearers are Bill Dishman, Craig Geneva, Ralph Keel, Tim Johnson, Josh Hughes, Derrick Replogle, Donnie Krumsiek and Jeff Fousel.
