August 11, 2011 Sallie K. (Logan) Monroe, of Broken Arrow, went to be with the Lord on March 3, 2009, at 85 years of age. Sallie was born in Clarksville, AR on November 20, 1923 to Arthur and Minnie Logan. She married her school sweetheart C.C. "Pete" Monroe on August 31, 1941. They were married 67 years. They moved to Broken Arrow in 1958. They had one child, Myrna Kathryn, born October 21, 1946. Sallie's parents and daughter preceded her in death. Sallie worked at McDonnell Douglas as a timekeeper from 1951 to 1956. She loved babies and took in 22 foster children over a period 4 years. She is survived by her husband C.C. "Pete" Monroe of the home; brother George W. Logan and his wife Elizabeth of Haskell; grandchildren: Steven Pennington and his wife Stacey, Scott Pennington and his wife Heather, Stacye Chernisky and her husband Chris; son-in-law Larry Pennington and his wife Linda, all of Broken Arrow; step-grandchildren: Lincoln Leedy and his wife Melissa of Land O Lakes, FL, Hayley Morgan and her husband Ben of Perkins; great-grandchildren: Taylor, Jordan, Garrett, Paige, Ella, Faith and Kaylin. Sallie was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Broken Arrow for more than 50 years. She had many interests and hobbies, but her favorite was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved volunteering at church, traveling, cooking, shopping and going to the lake. She was a very special lady to a lot of people and will truly be missed by all.
