Ruth Evelyn Denton

Ruth Evelyn Jean Denton of Sapulpa passed away on August 25, 2016, at the age of 85. Ruth was born December 28, 1930, to Irvin and Ollie Jean. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Paul Denton. She attended Stillwater and Wagoner High Schools; where she graduated. Ruth was an active member of First Baptist Church in Sapulpa, the Xi Beta Phi Sorority and P.E.O. Chapter DT for a number of years. Ruth is survived by two brothers: Jim (Deloris) Jean of Wagoner and Marvin (Kathy) Jean of Charlotte, North Carolina and by her children: Paula (Don) Thompson of Sapulpa and Gary (Luanne) Denton of Sapulpa. In addition, she is also survived by her five grandchildren: Grant (Courtney) Thompson of Chevy Chase, MD, Gavin (Kristin) Thompson of Edmond, Garet (Heather) Thompson of Jenks, Whitney Denton of Sapulpa, and Ben Denton of Tulsa along with great-grandchildren, John Oxley, Gentry Grace, Annie Larkin (Birdie) and Kenna Reign and numerous nieces and nephews. Grandma Ruth continues to be deeply loved. She will be deeply missed by, "The Gang". A memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 30th at 11am at First Baptist Church in Sapulpa, followed by a private family burial in Coweta. The funeral arrangements are under the direction of Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home, 210 S. Broadway, Coweta, OK, 918-486-5515. The family invites friends to stop by prior to the funeral if desired, as there will be no receiving line following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation to First Baptist Church of Sapulpa, Physicians Choice Hospice or your favorite charity.
