Russell Lynn Teakell

Russell Lynn Teakell, age 67, of Broken Arrow went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday morning, August 30, 2014 at Hillcrest Hospital South in Tulsa, OK. He was born on April 5, 1947 in Sayre, OK to William Leonard and Cora Etta (Allison) Teakell. After graduating high school, he attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University, where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy. Russell and Margaret Elaine Ceta (Smith) Teakell were married on December 22, 1967 in Sayre, OK and she preceded him in death on January 23, 2011. He worked at St. Francis Hospital as Assistant Director of Pharmacy and at Laureate Hospital as Pharmacy Manager until he retired on March 27, 2009. Russell served as President of the Oklahoma Society of Hospital Pharmacists from 1983 - 1984. He was a member of the Church of Christ at Whispering Hills in Broken Arrow, where he taught Sunday morning class and served as an Elder. He enjoyed playing pool, genealogy, camping and spending time with his family. Russell was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Elaine Ceta Teakell and his parents, William Leonard and Cora Etta Teakell. Russell is survived by 3 sons, Kevin Teakell and wife, Andrea, of Broken Arrow, OK, Grant Teakell and wife, Lyuba, of Tulsa, OK and Collin Teakell of Broken Arrow, OK; 1 daughter, Shannan Teakell of Broken Arrow, OK; 2 sisters, Ida Belle Crown of Chouteau, OK and Violet June Grubb of Round Rock, TX; 1 brother, Wayne Teakell of Cedar Rapids, IA; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Viewing will be from 9 AM - 8 PM on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home with the family greeting friends from 6 - 8 PM. Funeral services celebrating the life of Russell will be at 10 AM on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at the Church of Christ at Whispering Hills in Broken Arrow, OK with Dale Graham and Mike Snider officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Claremore, OK. Pallbearers are Bill Canfield, Ron Risner, Steve Parrott, Charlie Van Gilder, Lowell Wilcoxen, Dave Fowler, Tony Lightsey and Cecil Kusler.
