Ruby Lucille (Frazier) Schauffler, longtime resident of Coweta, age 93, a loving and caring mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and aunt, passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, December 18, 2012 at Senior Suites in Broken Arrow, OK. Lucille was born on April 8, 1919 in Cleveland, OK and was the daughter of Harvey E. Frazier, Sr. and Bessie C. (Shields) Frazier. Lucille was a 1937 graduate of Coweta High School. She and Melvin Schauffler were united in marriage on July 15, 1937 in Coweta, OK and were married 71 years until he preceded her in death on April 20, 2009. Lucille was a loving homemaker for most of her life. She was a member of Shahan Free Will Baptist Church and she served on the election board. Lucille enjoyed birds, flowers, camping, traveling, sewing and genealogy. Lucille is lovingly survived by her daughter, Joyce Jay of Coweta; two brothers, Harvey Frazier of Yuma, AZ and Kenneth Frazier of TX; six grandchildren, Gary Don Ussery, Russell Ussery, Donna Lamberson, Steve Davis, Clint Jay and Curtis Jay; 9 great grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey E. Frazier, Sr. and Bessie C. Frazier, her husband, Melvin Schauffler, two daughters, Myrna Ussery and Norma Davis, two sisters, two grandsons, one granddaughter and two son-in-laws, Donald Ussery and Billy Jay. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening, December 20, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral services for Lucille are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, December 21, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Coweta, OK with Pastor Steve Lamberson officiating. Burial will follow at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta. Pallbearers are Russell Ussery, Steve Davis, Clint Jay, Curtis Jay, Hayden Jay and Caymen Davis. Honorary Pallbearers are Gary Ussery and Gene Davis.
