Ruby Bell Parkerson

January 1, 1915 — April 3, 2007

Ruby Bell Parkerson of Coweta passed away on Tuesday evening, April 3, 2007 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 91 years old. Ruby was born on May 20, 1915 in Gans, Oklahoma to Jim and Ellen (Kilgore) Lott. She received her education in the Porter school system. In 1928, she came to the Coweta area from Porter, Oklahoma. She and Charlie Parkerson were united in marriage on September 30, 1933 in Wagoner, Oklahoma. Ruby worked as a nurse at Saint Francis Hospital for 15 years. She then worked at Hillcrest Hospital. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Coweta. She was a volunteer foster grandparent at Central and Southside Elementary Schools for Coweta Public Schools. Her hobbies included gardening and fishing and she loved being with her family and grandkids. Survivors include one son, Benny Parkerson and his wife, Bonnie, of Coweta; two daughters, Janie Fellers and her friend, Francis Wheeler, of Coweta and Bobbie McCoy and her husband, Thomas, of Coweta; one sister, Charlotte Fallman of Phoenix, Arizona; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Danny Parkerson, two grandsons, Kirt Morris and Kevin Blair, two brothers, and four sisters. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 6, 2007 at the First United Methodist Church in Coweta with Reverend Allen Carson and Reverend Perry Shieldnight officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements and services are under the direction of Wright Funeral Home in Coweta.
