Ruby Nelms

January 1, 1919 — June 19, 2010

Ruby A. Nelms, age 90, longtime resident of Coweta went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday afternoon, June 19, 2010 at her residence. She was born on July 3, 1919 in Mill Creek, OK to Lee and Lena (Bell) Jones. Ruby was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great grandmother to her family. She graduated from Mill Creek High School and then attended Murray State College in Tishomingo, OK for one year. Ruby and Dr. Lucian L. Nelms were united in marriage on July 24, 1937 in Napoleon, OH. She was a homemaker for most of her life. Ruby was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Coweta from 1946 to present. Her hobbies included cooking and sewing. She will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends. Ruby is lovingly survived by her son, Dr. Jerry Nelms and his wife, Linda, of Coweta, OK; four grandchildren, Shelby and Kalab Coine, Jeff and Kathy Nelms, Andy and Melissa Nelms, and Jennifer and Ryan Tyrl; six great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two sisters. Funeral services for Ruby will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church in Coweta with Rev. Susan Whitley officiating. Interment will follow at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta. Family and friends may view the obituary and send condolences to Ruby's family online @ www.wrightfh.net.
