Roy L. Williams, age 70, long-time resident of Coweta, passed away Saturday afternoon, March 2, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK. Roy was born on February 4, 1943 in Atoka, OK and was the son of Guy and Leona (Standridge) Williams. Roy was a 1960 graduate of Atoka High School. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. Roy and Carol Moore were united in marriage on April 13, 1963, in Atoka, OK. Roy worked as manager of maintenance way equipment for Union Pacific Railroad Company for over 40 years, until he retired in 2000. Roy enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming and he loved spending time outdoors. Roy will be missed as a loving husband, father, brother, grandpa, uncle and friend. Roy is lovingly survived by his wife of 49 years, Carol Williams of the home; his 2 daughters, Bren Harris and husband, John, of Edmond, OK and Tara Megee and husband, Dirk, of Coweta, OK; 1 brother, Harvey Williams of Oregon; 1 sister, Lena Faye Nolan of Lawton, OK; 4 grandchildren, Katy Harris, Walt Harris, D.J. Megee and Zach Harris; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Roy was preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister. Funeral services for Roy are scheduled for 10:00 AM Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Community Baptist Church in Coweta, OK with Pastor Aaron Swenson officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 PM at Crowder Cemetery in Crowder, OK. Pallbearers are Ronnie Cochran, Don Harris, Jared Jennings, Lester Moore, Les Reid and Chris Schultz.
