Roxie "Nell" Miller

Roxie Nell Miller, age 76, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Forest Hills Care & Rehabilitation Center in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Nell was born on July 26, 1945 in San Marcos, Texas and was the daughter of Norman Lee and Norma Jean (Moore) Jordan. Nell received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor where she majored in Sociology and minored in Theology.  She received her Master’s degree in Special Education from Prairie View A&M University later in life and began her teaching career.  Nell worked as a Special Education teacher in Roma, Texas, Rio Grande City, Texas, Pampa, Texas, and Texarkana, Texas as well as Webbers Falls, Oklahoma Coop. She was an active member of the local church wherever she resided and most recently was a member of Crosspoint Baptist Church in Coweta, Oklahoma. Nell was an exceedingly talented vocalist and enjoyed singing in church throughout her life.  She was an avid participant in Bible studies and church activities.  It is not an exaggeration to say that she was loved by all her knew her.

Nell is survived by her mother, Norma Jean (Moore) Jordan; her son, Matthew Dean Miller; her daughter, Heather Jean (Miller) Guynes and husband Jeffery Darvin Guynes; her sister, Nancy Gayle (Jordan) Paetzold and husband Gary; her grandsons, Nathan Lawrence Alexander, Joshua Duane Guynes, and Christopher Jordan Guynes; and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends.

Nell was preceded in death by her father, Norman Lee Jordan.

Graveside services will be at the San Marcos City Cemetery located at 1001 Ranch Road 12 in San Marcos, Texas on March 5, 2022 at 2:00 pm.
