Rose Shirley

Rose E. Shirley, age 94, of Broken Arrow (formerly of Coweta), a loving and caring mother, sister, grandmother and aunt, passed away peacefully Wednesday evening, October 24, 2012 at her son's residence in Chelsea, OK. Rose was born on October 7, 1918 in Oneta, OK and was the daughter of David Henry and Mary Jane (Raebourne) Williams. In February of 1934, Rose and E.D. Shirley were united in marriage in Coweta, OK and he preceded her in death in 1973. Rose was a homemaker for most of her life. Rose is survived by her children, Gerald H. Shirley of Broken Arrow, OK, Charles Shirley and wife, Fontella, of Chelsea, OK, Rosemary Totty and husband, Mark, of Braselton, GA and Leon Shirley of Broken Arrow, OK; five brothers, Cecil Williams and wife, Dorothy, of Broken Arrow, OK, Guy Williams and wife, Rebecca, of Claremore, OK, Roger Williams and wife, Emma, of Fanshaw, OK, Ronald Williams and wife, Rosa, of Broken Arrow, OK and Rowdy Williams and wife, Linda, of Broken Arrow, OK; one sister, Myrna Brown and husband, Lynval, of Catoosa, OK; 15 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 15 great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Rose was preceded in death by her husband, E.D. Shirley, her parents, David Henry and Mary Jane Williams, one son, Ray D. Shirley, one step-son, Dean Shirley, two sisters, Dorothy Sutton and Pat Dooley and one brother, Melvin Williams. Funeral services for Rose are scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Wright-Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Coweta, OK with Pastor Elzie Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK. Pallbearers are David Shirley, Kiffa Shirley, Jacob Shirley, Benjamin Shirley, Logan Shirley and Chase Totty. Honorary Pallbearers are Mark Totty, Richard Williams, Dennis Williams, Warren Williams, Frank Gray and John Sutton. The family of Rose E.
