Ronald Edwin Atkins

Ronald Edwin Atkins was born April 15, 1968 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Ronnie and JoAnn (Thompson) Atkins. Ronald received Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior as a young adult. "Boogie" as he was affectionately known attended Tulsa Public Schools, and was a proud member of the McClain Scots 1986 graduating class. While there at McClain, he excelled in football, and received many scholarships to play at the collegiate level. After graduation, Ronald declared to join the Army, waving his opportunity to play college ball. He served our country for 4 years, where he was stationed in Germany, and Massachusetts. During his time of service, he was awarded with several badges, and medals. Badges, and awards to include Sharpshooter and Grenade, as well as an Overseas Service Medal. Ronald was Honorably discharged, and ultimately came back to live in Tulsa, Oklahoma. On March 13, 2004, Ronald married the love of his life, Tonya Germany. Ronald and Tonya made their home in Tulsa until he was called home on November 30, 2017. Ronald enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He spent a lot of his free time with his nieces, and nephews until they moved to Greensboro, North Carolina. He also spent a lot of time with his grandchildren. Ronald enjoyed mentoring, and coaching youth football players. His favorite teams were the University of Oklahoma, and the Dallas Cowboys. Ronald was preceded in death by both paternal, and maternal grandparents; his mother, JoAnn Atkins; and his father, Ronnie Atkins. He leaves to cherish his memory, his dedicated and loving wife, Tonya Atkins; two children, Randy Germany of Tulsa, and Christine (Jason) Davis of Tulsa; fifteen grandchildren, Taevon Germany of Pittsburgh, KS, Arteriona Thomas, Randi Germany, Wanya Thomas, Tanya Germany, Keshawn Fowlkes-Germany, Marjon King, Deon Fowlkes-Germany, Maurice King Jr., Christian Davis, Ryan Germany, Jaycee Davis, Jade Germany, and Amiyah Germany all of Tulsa, Madilyn Sullivan of South Burlington, Vermont; one great grandchild, Remington Germany of Pittsburgh, KS; one sister, Kathy (Gene) Atkins-Patton of Greensboro, North Carolina; one brother, Michael Thompson of Tulsa; two nephews, Ramon Miller II, and Tyron Miller Sr. both of Greensboro, North Carolina; two nieces, Paige Patton, and Taylor Patton both of Greensboro, North Carolina. Several cousins that Ronald held near, and dear to his heart, Morris Thompson Jr., Morreshia Thompson, Morris "Tre" Thompson III, and Barry "BJ" Shaver all of Tulsa; a special thank you to aunts, Debbie Crawford and Brenda Martin both of Hominy, Oklahoma. A special friend, Tammy. A host of beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, and dear friends that will miss him deeply.
