Robert Sowers

Robert William Sowers, age 53, of Coweta passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at his residence in Coweta, OK. Robert was born on July 28, 1959 in Claremore, OK and was the son of Robert and Lois (Clayton) Sowers. Robert and Barbara Fury were united in marriage on June 10, 1983 in Wagoner, OK. He worked at Dennis Kelly Construction Inc. as a frame carpenter. Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, target shooting, collecting coins and knives, animals, going to flea markets and he loved spending time with his grandchildren. Robert is survived by his wife, Barbara of the home; his father, Robert Sowers of Wagoner; his mother, Lois Clayton of Coweta; his three daughters, Jacqueline Thomas of Coweta, Robin Jackson of Porter and Cherry Sowers of Tulsa; four brothers, Gordon Sowers of Wagoner, Ronny Sowers of Coweta, Greg Sowers of Broken Arrow and Tony Sowers of Claremore; three sisters, Judy Sowers of Tulsa, Carla Thomas of Haskell and Carrie Sowers of Porter; five grandchildren, Aaron Thomas, Jr., Mary Thomas, Bobby Lynn Jackson, Wyatt Jackson and Chelsey Jackson; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Robert was preceded in death by one brother. A memorial service for Robert is scheduled for 1:30 PM Monday, December 10, 2012 at Porter Freewill Baptist Church in Porter, OK with Rev. Bobby Jenkins officiating. Honorary Pallbearers are Aaron Thomas, Nick Jackson, Aaron Thomas, Jr. and Wyatt Jackson.
