Robert Massey

Robert Lee Massey, age 74, of Coweta, OK passed from this life on Sunday, October 4, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK. He was born on August 8, 1935 in Tulsa, OK to Lee Everet Massey, Sr and Ruth (Muggy) Massey. Robert received his education in the Coweta school system and graduated from Coweta High School in 1954. He joined the United States Navy on March 22, 1956 and was honorably discharged on March 21, 1962. Robert and Merry Lindsey were united in marriage on May 31, 1963 in Coweta, OK. He worked at Dresser Rand as a Fabricator for 27 years until his retirement in 2000. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, cattle, collecting coins, and he loved being with his grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister. Robert is lovingly survived by his wife, Merry of the home; one son, Jeff Massey and his wife, Kendal, of Wagoner, OK; two daughters, Shonna Massey and Sherry Kelley and her husband, Tim, all of Coweta, OK; one brother, Lee Everet Massey, Jr. of Coweta, OK; one sister, Carolyn McMahan of Coweta, OK; six grandchildren, Jessica Akery, Stephen Kelley, Alyssa Massey, Madison Kelley, Braden Massey, and Reese Kelley; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 8, 2009 at First Assembly of God in Coweta, OK with Pastor Gary Rogers officiating. Interment will follow at Vernon Cemetery. Honorary Casket Bearers will be Floyd Lindsey, James Lindsey, Steve Lindsey, Dwain Sanders, Coy McMahan, Tim Blair, and Jesse Edwards.
